The California Highway Patrol reported that two people were killed and four others injured, one critically, in a major chain-reaction accident on the 210 Eastbound freeway early Friday morning.
The accident that occurred shortly before 6AM was just east of Irwindale Avenue exit on the 210 Freeway. The entire eastbound freeway was closed for several miles while investigators examine what actually happened.
Investigators say it all started with a minor collision between two vehicles just before 6 a.m. Friday.
The vehicles pulled onto the shoulder and then another collision occurred between two trucks.

Three other vehicles then somehow became involved, including a Foothill Transit bus which did not have any passengers onboard, police said. One man died after he was ejected from his vehicle. A woman whose vehicle was crushed in the collision was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The person who was critically injured had to be extricated from a mangled vehicle that collided with the bus. That victim was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital.
