St. Luke Parish Fiesta Continues 23-Year Tradition
Poker Tournament Added to Saturday Activities
St. Luke Church in Temple City will host its Annual Fiesta for the 23rd year on April 23, 24 & 25, 2010. The event, which includes an Antique, Classic & Hot Rod Car Show on Saturday, offers families three days of food, games, and spectacular rides.
The fiesta includes over a dozen food booths, with menu selections including Mexican, Italian, All-American favorites and more. A Poker Tournament has been added to the weekend’s activities. The tournament will be held on Saturday starting at 3 p.m. Buy-in is $50 (Includes $1500 Start Stack; No-limit Texas Hold’em, unlimited $25 rebuys for first hour & half – $1000 in chips). The Poker Tournament Grand Prize is an APPLE IPAD (16GB). Call the Parish Office for more information or to pre-register.
Numerous local popular bands and groups will perform all weekend, including the band Cold Duck, which will headline Saturday night’s festivities from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Returning for the fourth year following growing popularity, the Car Show will be held on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. The show will feature an exciting collection of cars and motorcycles in an expanded show area in the church parking lot. Car enthusiasts and lovers are welcome to showcase their cars. A registration form is available on the Parish Web site or by calling the Parish Office. Registration is $25. KOST 103.5 FM will be at the car show 1-4 p.m.
Other event features include a Plant & Garden Booth with a wide variety of plants, many homegrown by parishioners; a Boutique with hundreds of handcrafted items; and a Beer Garden, offering premium domestic draft beer, wine and margaritas. Patrons can relax and enjoy sports games that will be shown on TV screens set up in the beer garden.
A Grand Prize Raffle drawing will be held, along with 50/50 drawings throughout the weekend. The Grand Prize is $7,500 cash. The Parish is also sponsoring a Super 50/50 Cash Raffle. Winner could receive up to $5,000 in cash (Guaranteed at least $3,000)! Tickets are $20 each. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Tickets are available now until sold out. Tickets can be purchased at the St. Luke Parish Office, 5605 Cloverly Ave., Temple City.
Admission is free.
