"Every 15 Minutes" Drunk Driving Prevention Program to Simulate Drunk Driving Accident

This program involves the simulation of several class members being involved in a fatal traffic collision.. The event begins with the victims/students being removed from class early in the school day by a grim reaper sheriff’s deputy. A flower will be placed in their chair without explanation for what is taking place.

At 11:00 a.m., a 911 phone call will be broadcast over the school PA system reporting a serious traffic collision, after which all students and staff report to Temple City Blvd. There will be a simulated two-vehicle traffic collision in which at least one of the pre-selected students is pronounced dead. Several others have sustained non-life threatening injuries and are being transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital. One of the students will be given a field sobriety test and then arrested and booked at Temple Sheriff station.

This event will be held in cooperation between the LA.. Co Fire Department, Temple City High School, L.A. Co Sheriff’s, CHP, MADD City of Temple City and Arcadia Methodist Hospital. It will take place on April 2, 2009 from 10 am. to 1 p.m. at Temple City High School, 9501 Lemon Ave. Temple City,

Entrance to parking will be on Emperor Rd. east of Oak St.

The “Every 15-Minutes” Program is designed to provide young adults with a realistic glimpse into the consequences of drunk driving and the damaging effects of alcohol related traffic collisions.
