Domestic Violence: Deputies arrested a MA/58 at 11:00PM for Domestic Violence in the 9100 block of Emperor Avenue. The victim and suspect got into an argument. During the argument, the suspect threw an object, striking the victim. The victim and suspect are married and have children together. The Department of Children and Family Services was notified. The suspect is a resident of Temple City.<br />

Vehicle Burglary: A Vehicle Burglary occurred between 1:30PM-2:00PM in the 10800 block of Freer Avenue. The victim said she parked her vehicle. When she returned, she noticed items missing from her vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry and the victim was unsure if she locked her vehicle. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Violation of Court Order: A Restraining Order Violation occurred at 7:00PM in the 6100 block of Loma Avenue. The victim and suspect have a child custody order. The victim said the suspect had failed to comply with the order and made no attempt to contact her regarding cancelled visits. The suspect is a resident of the city of Pasadena.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 5:30PM-8:00PM in the 9800 block of Lower Azusa Road. The victim returned home and noticed someone entered her residence through the bedroom window and stole two of her computers. There was no sign of forced entry and the victim was unsure if she locked the window. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />

Commercial Burglary: A Commercial Burglary was reported at 11:25AM in the 5200 block of Daleview Avenue. The victim left his computer in a classroom, over the weekend. When he returned, he noticed his computer had been stolen. The point of entry was made through a faulty lock on the entry door. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 7:30AM-6:20PM in the 5800 block of Rowland Avenue. The victim arrived home and noticed someone forcibly entered her residence and stole property. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Vehicle Burglary: A Vehicle Burglary occurred between 9:30AM-12:10PM in the 5500 block of Gracewood Avenue. The victim parked her vehicle and went to work. When she returned, she saw her vehicle window was smashed and her purse was stolen. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 9:40AM-1:15PM in the 5500 block of Persimmon Avenue. The victim returned home and noticed someone entered her home and stole her jewelry. There was no sign of forced entry. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 11:45AM-1:10PM in the 5500 block of Baldwin Avenue. The victim left her residence and armed her home alarm. Several hours later, she was advised her alarm was activated. The victim did not notice any property missing from her home and believes her alarm prevented the theft. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Operating Without a Business License: Deputies cited a MH/19 at 5:00PM for a Business License Required at Longden Avenue &amp; Muscatel Avenue. The suspect was selling items on the corner, without a license. The suspect is a resident of the city of Los Angeles.<br />
Petty Theft: A Petty Theft occurred between 7:00AM-10:30AM in the 6200 block of Avon Avenue. The victim noticed someone stole two of his trash cans from his property. There were no witnesses.<br />
Under Influence of Controlled Substance: Deputies arrested a MW/38 at 11:35PM for Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance in the 6400 block of Loma Avenue. Deputies were called to the location regarding a suspicious person. Deputies contacted the suspect who displayed the signs and symptoms of a person under the influence of narcotics. The suspect is on active parole and a resident of the city of San Gabriel.<br />

Under Influence of Controlled Substance: Deputies arrested a FW/43 at 6:00PM for Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance at Lower Azusa Road &amp; El Monte Avenue. The suspect was detained for vehicle code violations and displayed the signs and symptoms of a person under the influence of narcotics. The suspect is a resident of the city of San Dimas.<br />
Receiving Stolen Property: Deputies arrested a MW/46 at 9:49PM for Receiving Stolen Property at Workman Avenue &amp; Golden West Avenue. The suspect was detained for vehicle code violations on a bicycle. The suspect possessed female jewelry he could not prove ownership of and believed was possibly stolen. The suspect was on probation. This is an ongoing investigation. The suspect is a resident of the city of San Marino.<br />
Shoplifting Burglary: Deputies arrested a FB/54 and MW/24 at 12:52PM in the 5600 block of Rosemead Boulevard. The suspects entered a business and stole various items, then exited without paying. The suspects are residents of the city of Pasadena. There were witnesses and video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 10:00AM-6:00PM in the 9900 block of Workman Avenue. The victim arrived home and found her home ransacked, but was unable to determine if anything was missing at the time. Entry into the residence was made through the back door, as the window was forced open and the door unlocked. There were no reported witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />

Vehicle Burglary: A Vehicle Burglary was reported at 8:39PM in the 9600 block of Olive Avenue. The victim parked his vehicle along the curb, in front of his residence. When the victim returned, he saw someone broke the lock on his driver’s door and stole the third row bench seat of his SUV. There were no witnesses</p>

Possession of Controlled Substance: Deputies arrested a MW/46 at 12:48PM for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance at Persimmon Avenue &amp; Fairview Avenue. Deputies detained the suspect regarding a welfare check. The suspect appeared under the influence of a controlled substance and possessed methamphetamine. The suspect is on active parole and a resident of the city of El Monte.<br />
01-21-12<br />
Vandalism: A Vandalism occurred between 3:00AM-10:30AM in the 9200 block of Pentland Avenue. The victim parked his vehicle in his driveway. When he returned, he saw someone smashed two of his vehicle windows. There were no witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Possession of Controlled Substance: Deputies arrested a MH/41 at 4:30PM for Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5700 block of Encinita Avenue. The suspect was detained for vehicle code violations. The suspect was in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect is a resident of the city of San Gabriel.<br />
Vandalism: A Vandalism occurred at 2:30AM in the 6400 block of Temple City Boulevard. The victim said his girlfriend’s daughter got into an argument with her boyfriend (suspect), but he refused to leave to leave the location. The suspect then broke his girlfriend’s bedroom window and ran from the location. This is an ongoing investigation.<br />
This includes significant crimes and is not inclusive of all crimes in Temple City.</p>

For the period of Sunday, January 1st, through Saturday, January 7th, the Police Department responded to 748 calls for service of which 96 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.<br />
Sunday, January 1:<br />
At about 2:10 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle for a broken headlight and lane swerving on Santa Anita Avenue at Colorado Boulevard. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of alcohol emitting from his person. An investigation revealed the 20-year-old Hispanic male was under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested for DUI.<br />
At approximately 2:52 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter in regards to a fraud report. While reviewing her online statements, the victim discovered one of her checks had been altered. After the victim mailed her check, an unknown suspect(s) obtained the check and cashed it for a different amount.<br />
Further investigation revealed a Black female suspect was arrested for check fraud by the El Monte Police Department. A DMV check revealed this suspect lived a short distance away from the location where the victim mailed her check.<br />
Monday, January 2:<br />
Shortly after 11:40 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Gardens Retirement Home, 720 West Camino Real Avenue, in regards to a possible fraud report. The victim received a telephone call from an unknown male subject who informed him that he won 13 million dollars from a sweepstakes he had entered, and needed to pay a fee in order to receive his prize money. The victim mailed the check and never received any prizes. The suspect called a second time requesting an additional fee, at which time the victim realized it was a scam. He is desirous of prosecution.<br />
Around 3:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to JC Penney at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to two male adults in custody for theft. The suspects concealed merchandise inside their clothing and exited the store without making payment. The 18-year-old and 19-year-old Chinese males were transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking without incident.<br />
Tuesday, January 3:<br />
At approximately 1:42 p.m., an officer was driving north on Santa Anita Avenue at Wheeler<br />
Avenue, and observed a suspicious vehicle driving west on Wheeler Avenue. The driver saw the officer and began to drive in reverse, east toward First Avenue, in attempt to get away. The subject abandoned his car in the Denny’s parking lot, 7 East Huntington Drive, and fled on foot through multiple businesses. Assisting officers detained the suspect in the Domenico’s parking lot, 251 North Santa Anita Avenue. An investigation revealed the subject ran from police for no apparent reason. He was released without further delay.<br />
Sometime in the morning hours, unknown suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the master bedroom of a residence in the 000 block of East Camino Real Avenue. When the victim returned home she observed the door frame was damaged. Officers determined the alarm was activated and the suspect(s) fled undetected. No property was reported missing.<br />
Wednesday, January 4:<br />
Shortly after 10:00 a.m., an officer conducted a license plate look up on a black Chevrolet Tahoe as he was driving south on Second Avenue, north of Huntington Drive. The officer discovered the vehicle had a warrant attached and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation revealed the warrant was valid and the driver was never issued a license. The 25-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.<br />
At about 8:42 p.m., an officer responded to the Macy’s parking lot at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to an auto burglary. After the victim returned from work, she discovered unknown suspect(s) stole her factory navigation system and third row seat. Officers did not locate any signs of forced entry and no one saw or heard anything suspicious.<br />
Thursday, January 5:<br />
Around 11:35 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 000 block of California Street, in regards to a mail theft. The victim observed a female adult approach her front porch and walk away carrying her package that was just delivered. The suspect entered a brown 1980’s four-door sedan, which was parked in front of the victim’s house. The victim attempted to chase after the suspect; however, the vehicle fled northbound on Second Avenue. An area check proved negative. The suspect is described as a White female with long blonde hair, about 5’7”, 135 lbs., wearing a white or pink colored shirt with a dark sweater tied around her waist, and blue pants.<br />
Shortly after 6:09 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Santa Anita Avenue and Las Flores Avenue, in regards to a three-party traffic accident. A driver was traveling southbound on Santa Anita Avenue while two other parties were stopped ahead of him. The driver did not stop in time and struck the rear end of party two, who then moved forward and rear-ended party three. No major injuries were reported.<br />
Friday, January 6:<br />
At approximately 1:42 a.m., an officer responded to AMC Theaters at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a movie piracy report. A male adult was observed video-taping a movie with his cellular phone. The 21-year-old male of unknown race was arrested for Movie Piracy and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.<br />
At about 5:27 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a sexual battery investigation. A juvenile victim was standing in the food court area, and was approached by an unknown suspect who grabbed her buttocks. The victim attempted to move away, however the suspect continued to follow her. When the victim yelled for help, she was assisted by mall security and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. An area check for the suspect met with negative results. The suspect is described as a White male adult, 20 to 30-years-old, about 5’6” tall, 300 lbs., with long straight shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweater and blue jeans.<br />
Saturday, January 7:<br />
Between 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., a theft occurred at West Coast Elite Gymnastics, 900 South Santa Anita Avenue. When the victim went to retrieve her purse from a shelf, she discovered it was missing. No one observed anything suspicious. The victim has no idea who may have taken her property.<br />
Around 8:08 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Sephora at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a female juvenile detained for theft. The suspect concealed multiple items inside a used shopping bag and exited the store without making payment. Further investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of burglary tools. The 17-year-old Chinese female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.</p>

Felony Hit and Run Traffic Collision &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On January 9 at 5:42 p.m., a bicyclist was traveling west on Foothill and stopped at Violet when a dark colored SUV collided into the bicyclist. The bicyclist was ejected approximately 20 feet and the driver of the SUV fled west on Foothill. The bicyclist was treated by Monrovia Fire Department at the scene and was taken to a hospital. His external injuries appeared minor, but his internal injuries were unknown, so as a precaution, he was taken to a trauma unit.<br />
During the investigation, Monrovia Police Department received a call from a subject who claimed to have possibly been involved in a traffic collision with another vehicle on Foothill. The caller provided a description of his vehicle, which matched the description of the hit and run vehicle. Officers responded to the driver’s location and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested.<br />
Shots Fired<br />
On January 13 at 10:42 p.m., residents in the area of 1100 South Primrose heard several shots fired. Officers responded and discovered four .45 caliber bullet casings in the south alley in the 200 block of West Huntington, near Magnolia. Video surveillance showed a male suspect, possibly White or Hispanic, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt in the alley. The suspect fired four rounds east in the alley, then he ran west out of sight. It is unknown what he was shooting at; however, at the time of the shooting, the manager of a business saw a male Black subject, approximately 18 to 20 years old, wearing baggy clothing, dancing around in the parking lot. He then ran east toward Primrose. It’s possible he could have been the target and was attempting to avoid getting hit. No impact points or blood on the ground was located. Hospitals were notified, but no victims were reported during the night.<br />
On January 16 at approximately 3 a.m., an officer stopped a suspicious subject. During the contact, the subject claimed to be the victim of the shooting that occurred on January 13. The victim said he was in a business parking lot and was shot at; he was not struck or injured. The victim would not cooperate with the officer and refused to provide any additional information. The clothing the victim was wearing during his contact with the officer matched the possible victim’s clothing reported on the night of the shooting. The officer completed a supplemental report regarding his contact with the possible victim and an identification card was also completed. Investigation continuing.<br />
Grand Theft Auto &#8211; Motorcycle<br />
On January 14 at 2:33 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of South Shamrock heard noises in his front yard and went outside to investigate. He saw his 2005, orange and black, KTM dirt-bike motorcycle was missing off a trailer he had parked on the street in front of his house. Witnesses told him they saw a male Hispanic subject, approximately 30 years old, pushing it west on Lemon toward California. Officers searched the area for the suspect and the motorcycle, but did not locate either. Investigation continuing.<br />
Theft<br />
On January 14 at 10:19 a.m., officers responded to a theft report at an apartment complex in the 700 block of South Myrtle. A pickup truck parked on the first level of the parking structure behind the security gate had two duffel bags stolen out of the bed of the truck. Investigation continuing.<br />
Embezzlement &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On January 14 at 11:43 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 600 block of South Myrtle regarding an embezzlement report. The owner of the business noticed a discrepancy in the inventory and confronted the employee in charge, who admitted to embezzling property from the business. During investigation, the employee confessed to embezzling property from the business over the past five years. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.<br />
Special Enforcement Team Activity Possession of Marijuana for Sales / Traffic Stop / Warrants &#8211; Suspects Arrested<br />
On January 14 at 8:46 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of South Myrtle. He recognized the driver and knew she had an active want for her arrest issued by Monrovia Police Department. A search of her vehicle revealed marijuana found in different containers, and a large quantity of cash was found on her person. Her cell phone contained multiple texts from people that indicated she was selling marijuana to them. She was arrested for the want, as well as possession of marijuana for sales and transportation. There was a passenger in the vehicle that was found to have five felony warrants, which included a no-bail probation warrant. The passenger was also arrested.<br />
Domestic Violence / Outside Assist &#8211; Huntington Beach Police Department &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On January 14, the Special Enforcement Team detained a distraught female on Myrtle and Duarte. The subject said she was upset because her twin sister had been involved in domestic violence with her husband. While talking to her, her husband and sister arrived. After further investigation, the sister was arrested for domestic violence for battering her husband. Since the incident occurred in Huntington Beach, the Huntington Beach Police Department responded and took custody of the female suspect.<br />
Detective Bureau &#8211; Case Follow-up<br />
On November 16, 2011, at approximately 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 300 East Colorado regarding vandalism in progress. The officers were able to locate one adult suspect and a juvenile suspect. The suspects were arrested for tagging in the area of 300 East Colorado. The tagging is unique and there were several reports describing the particular tagging.<br />
A follow-up investigation by a detective discovered two additional suspects tied to the original suspects. After an extensive data collection effort by the detective, the cost of cleaning up the paint and replacing the damaged glass amounted to a felony vandalism charge. The detective was able to use the detailed preliminary investigation by the officer to secure a felony filing against all four suspects and close 25 cases. Since the case was filed, the detective has found two additional cases to add to the filing.</p>

Monday, January 16th:<br />
12:20 PM- Theft of Mail, 300 blk. Olive Tree Ln. Unknown suspect(s) removed mail from outside the victim’s front door. The victim was notified about the package arrival by UPS delivery notice.<br />
6:35 PM- Making Annoying Telephone Calls, 500 blk. W. Sierra Madre Blvd. This incident involves an ex-girlfriend making harassing phone calls to her ex-boyfriend after she was advised to stop contact.<br />
Tuesday, January 17th:<br />
4:05 PM-Use of Another’s Personal Identification to Obtain Credit/Etc.This incident involves the unauthorized fraudulent use of the victim’s credit/debit card number obtained from the Valero gas station.<br />
3:20 PM-Use of Another’s Personal Identification to Obtain Credit/Etc.Unknown suspect(s) used the victim’s stolen credit cards to make unauthorized purchases.<br />
Thursday, January 19th:<br />
10:19 AM- Vandalism/Graffiti, 100 blk. Mariposa Ave. Unknown suspect(s) used spray paint to graffiti the curb side.<br />
4:05 PM- Use of Another’s Personal Identification to Obtain Credit/Etc.This incident involves the unauthorized fraudulent use of the victim’s credit/debit card number obtained from the Valero gas station.<br />
11:35 PM- Receiving/Concealing Stolen Property, Orange Grove Ave and Orlando Dr. An officer stopped a 26-year old Los Angeles motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had three outstanding no-bail warrants; also, the 26-year old passenger was a parole-at-large. After both individuals were arrested, an inventory of the car uncovered numerous items of property that had been stolen from the residents in Sierra Madre and other cities. The female driver was transported to the Pasadena Police Department jail for booking and the male passenger was transported to IRC for booking.<br />
Friday, January 20th:<br />
7:31 AM- PettyTheft, 100 blk. E. Mira Monte Ave. Suspect entered an unlocked parked car and stole a 2011 DMV vehicle registration, 2011 Honda owner’s manual and a red and black blanket. Suspects were found in possession of the property.<br />
7:58 AM- Theft of Mail, 200 blk. Old Rancho Rd. This incident involves two suspects found in possession of the stolen property. Suspects were found in possession of the property.<br />
8:33 AM- Auto Burglary, 200 blk. Sturtevant Dr.Suspects entered a locked vehicle and stole a Garmin GPS, an IPod and an IPhone car charger..Suspects were found in possession of the property.<br />

Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 10:25AM-1:30PM, in the 9900 block of Daines Drive. The victim arrived home and found her back door forced open and items missing from the interior of her residence. There were no reported witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 11:00AM-2:00PM in the 9900 block of Daines Drive. The victim arrived home and found her rear sliding glass door pried open and jewelry missing from her bedroom. There were no reported witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 11:00AM-1:00PM in the 4800 block of Doreen Avenue. The victim arrived home and found the front window of her residence smashed and her diamond ring missing. The neighbor provided a description of a male Hispanic 30-35 years old, who knocked on her door earlier and asked for directions to the store and appeared to have no purpose in the area. There was no video surveillance of the incident.<br />
Attempt Murder on Peace Officer: An Attempt Murder on a Peace Officer occurred at 4:30PM at Lower Azusa Road &amp; Halifax Avenue. A deputy detained a male Hispanic riding a bicycle for vehicle code violations and as a possible burglary suspect. The suspect was in possession of narcotics and provided a false name to the deputy. As the suspect was in the process of being handcuffed, he fought with the deputy and tried to take his gun. An officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect fled the scene and managed to avoid capture. This is an ongoing investigation.<br />
01-03-12<br />
Criminal Threats: A Criminal Threats occurred at 8:00PM in the 9500 block of Lower Azusa Road. The victim’s ex-brother-in-law threatened to return to the victim’s residence and attack him. The victim fears the suspect has gang affiliations and believes he will return with his brothers and carry out his threat.<br />
Possession of Marijuana: Deputies cited and field released a MA/25 at 1:55AM for Possession of Less than 1 Ounce of Marijuana at Olive Street &amp; Sultana Avenue. The suspect was driving with a female passenger, when he was detained for vehicle code violations. During the traffic stop, the suspect handed a baggy of marijuana to the female passenger to conceal. The baggy was recovered and booked into evidence. The suspect was on parole for kidnapping and is a resident of the city of San Gabriel.<br />
Residential Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 3:45PM-11:59PM in the 5300 block of Temple City Boulevard. The victim arrived home and found a window pried open and items missing from the interior of her residence. There were no reported witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />

Forgery: A Forgery occurred at 3:15PM in the 5900 block of Oak Avenue. The suspect attempted to purchase items at a local business with a forged personal check and a fictitious driver’s license. The suspect fled the location and was not located. There was no video surveillance of the incident. This is an ongoing investigation.<br />

Sunday, January 1:<br />
At about 2:10 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle for a broken headlight and lane swerving on Santa Anita Avenue at Colorado Boulevard. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of alcohol emitting from his person. An investigation revealed the 20-year-old Hispanic male was under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested for DUI.<br />
At approximately 2:52 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter in regards to a fraud report. While reviewing her online statements, the victim discovered one of her checks had been altered. After the victim mailed her check, an unknown suspect(s) obtained the check and cashed it for a different amount.<br />
Further investigation revealed a Black female suspect was arrested for check fraud by the El Monte Police Department. A DMV check revealed this suspect lived a short distance away from the location where the victim mailed her check.<br />
Monday, January 2:<br />
Shortly after 11:40 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Gardens Retirement Home, 720 West Camino Real Avenue, in regards to a possible fraud report. The victim received a telephone call from an unknown male subject who informed him that he won 13 million dollars from a sweepstakes he had entered, and needed to pay a fee in order to receive his prize money. The victim mailed the check and never received any prizes. The suspect called a second time requesting an additional fee, at which time the victim realized it was a scam. He is desirous of prosecution.<br />
Around 3:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to JC Penney at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to two male adults in custody for theft. The suspects concealed merchandise inside their clothing and exited the store without making payment. The 18-year-old and 19-year-old Chinese males were transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking without incident.<br />
Tuesday, January 3:<br />
At approximately 1:42 p.m., an officer was driving north on Santa Anita Avenue at Wheeler<br />
Avenue, and observed a suspicious vehicle driving west on Wheeler Avenue. The driver saw the officer and began to drive in reverse, east toward First Avenue, in attempt to get away. The subject abandoned his car in the Denny’s parking lot, 7 East Huntington Drive, and fled on foot through multiple businesses. Assisting officers detained the suspect in the Domenico’s parking lot, 251 North Santa Anita Avenue. An investigation revealed the subject ran from police for no apparent reason. He was released without further delay.<br />
Sometime in the morning hours, unknown suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the master bedroom of a residence in the 000 block of East Camino Real Avenue. When the victim returned home she observed the door frame was damaged. Officers determined the alarm was activated and the suspect(s) fled undetected. No property was reported missing.<br />
Wednesday, January 4:<br />
Shortly after 10:00 a.m., an officer conducted a license plate look up on a black Chevrolet Tahoe as he was driving south on Second Avenue, north of Huntington Drive. The officer discovered the vehicle had a warrant attached and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation revealed the warrant was valid and the driver was never issued a license. The 25-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.<br />
At about 8:42 p.m., an officer responded to the Macy’s parking lot at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to an auto burglary. After the victim returned from work, she discovered unknown suspect(s) stole her factory navigation system and third row seat. Officers did not locate any signs of forced entry and no one saw or heard anything suspicious.<br />
Thursday, January 5:<br />
Around 11:35 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 000 block of California Street, in regards to a mail theft. The victim observed a female adult approach her front porch and walk away carrying her package that was just delivered. The suspect entered a brown 1980’s four-door sedan, which was parked in front of the victim’s house. The victim attempted to chase after the suspect; however, the vehicle fled northbound on Second Avenue. An area check proved negative. The suspect is described as a White female with long blonde hair, about 5’7”, 135 lbs., wearing a white or pink colored shirt with a dark sweater tied around her waist, and blue pants.<br />
Shortly after 6:09 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Santa Anita Avenue and Las Flores Avenue, in regards to a three-party traffic accident. A driver was traveling southbound on Santa Anita Avenue while two other parties were stopped ahead of him. The driver did not stop in time and struck the rear end of party two, who then moved forward and rear-ended party three. No major injuries were reported.<br />
Friday, January 6:<br />
At approximately 1:42 a.m., an officer responded to AMC Theaters at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a movie piracy report. A male adult was observed video-taping a movie with his cellular phone. The 21-year-old male of unknown race was arrested for Movie Piracy and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.<br />
At about 5:27 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a sexual battery investigation. A juvenile victim was standing in the food court area, and was approached by an unknown suspect who grabbed her buttocks. The victim attempted to move away, however the suspect continued to follow her. When the victim yelled for help, she was assisted by mall security and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. An area check for the suspect met with negative results. The suspect is described as a White male adult, 20 to 30-years-old, about 5’6” tall, 300 lbs., with long straight shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweater and blue jeans.<br />
Saturday, January 7:<br />
Between 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., a theft occurred at West Coast Elite Gymnastics, 900 South Santa Anita Avenue. When the victim went to retrieve her purse from a shelf, she discovered it was missing. No one observed anything suspicious. The victim has no idea who may have taken her property.<br />
Around 8:08 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Sephora at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a female juvenile detained for theft. The suspect concealed multiple items inside a used shopping bag and exited the store without making payment. Further investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of burglary tools. The 17-year-old Chinese female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.</p>

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On December 30 at 11:19 p.m., an officer on patrol observed a suspicious van driving slowly through a parking lot in the 100 block of South Myrtle. The officer approached the van and observed a subject. The subject made a furtive move toward his waist, lifted a small black object up and dropped it over a wall in front of him. Once the subject was detained, the officer retrieved the black nylon bag the subject had dropped. The bag contained a used glass pipe and about a gram of methamphetamine in a small container. The suspect was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.<br />
Trespassing / Battery on a Peace Officer &#8211; Suspects Arrested<br />
On December 31 at 4:56 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of North May and located two subjects sleeping inside a vehicle in a garage. The subjects did not live at the location. They had been drinking and found an open garage and went inside to sleep. Both subjects were arrested for trespassing and were taken into custody. While at the police station, one of the suspects kicked an officer. He was also charged with battery on a peace officer. The officer was not injured.<br />
Domestic Violence &#8211; Suspects Arrested<br />
On January 1 at 2:21 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Norumbega on the report of a male and female fighting. On arrival, officers found a husband and wife had gotten into a physical altercation and both had physical injuries. Both gave conflicting statements. The officers arrested both the male and female for domestic violence as a dominant aggressor could not be determined based on statements.<br />
Special Enforcement Team Activity<br />
On December 28, Special Enforcement Team officers detained a suspicious subject in a business parking lot in the 700 block of East Huntington. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest and had a radar detector in his possession. He was arrested for the warrant and the radar detector was held for observation.</p>
<p>Sierra Madre PD<br />
During the week of Sunday, January 1st, 2012 to Saturday, January 7th, 2012 the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 295 calls for service.<br />
Monday, January 2nd<br />
2:11 AM – Stolen vehicle report, 00 block West Orange Grove Ave. The victim reported hearing the engine start on his Chevrolet pick-up truck. He described the truck as a white four door pick-up with 33” BF Goodrich tires and chrome rims. The victim stated the truck may have sustained new collision damage on the front passenger side when the suspect(s) driver struck a mailbox as the suspect(s) fled westbound on West Orange Grove Ave.<br />
Tuesday, January 3rd<br />
3:26 PM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, 300 block E. Sierra Madre Blvd. The driver was stopped for a traffic violation. During the investigation a records check revealed the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was cited and released on a written promise to appear.<br />
Wednesday, January 4th<br />
3:07 AM – Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, 1100 block Arno Drive. While on patrol an officer conducted a vehicle check of an occupied parked car. Upon making contact, the Officer smelled the odor marijuana emitting from the interior of the car. The passengers were issued citations for the above violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.<br />
9:52 AM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, 00 block W. Sierra Madre Blvd. The driver was stopped for a traffic violation. During the investigation a records check revealed the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was cited and released on a written promise to appear.<br />
2:38 PM – Arrest, Suspended Driver’s License, 300 block W. Sierra Madre Blvd. The driver was stopped for a traffic violation. During the investigation a records check revealed the driver was driving with a suspended / revoke driver’s license. The driver was cited and released on a written promise to appear.<br />
Thursday, January 5st<br />
12:04 AM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, Sierra Madre Blvd. and Baldwin Ave. The driver was stopped for a traffic violation. During the investigation a records check revealed the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was cited and released on a written promise to appear.<br />
2:43 PM – Vehicle Tampering, 500 block West Sierra Madre Blvd. The victim reported her car was vandalized between 10:00 pm, Wednesday, 1-04-12 and 12:00 pm, Thursday, 1-05-12. The rear window was smashed on her silver Honda CRV. The car was parked in the rear carport of her apartment complex.<br />
Saturday, January 7th<br />
1:21AM – Arrest, DUI Driver, Santa Anita Ave. and Foothill Blvd. An officer stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation. Further investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to Pasadena Jail.</p>

For the period of Sunday, December 25, through Saturday, December 31, the Police Department responded to 744 calls for service of which 129 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.<br />
Sunday, December 25:<br />
At about 10:37 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 000 block of Genoa Street regarding a theft report. The victim held a party at her house on December 23rd, after which she noticed her phone missing from her purse and wallet missing from her car. The victim discovered numerous unauthorized charges on her credit cards, and was informed by a friend that an unknown guest was seen inside her car at the time of the party. She is desirous of prosecution.<br />
At approximately 7:04 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Las Tunas Drive and El Monte Avenue, in reference to a two-party traffic collision. While traveling westbound on Las Tunas Drive, a driver attempted to make a left turn onto El Monte Avenue, however he failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle. No major injuries were reported.<br />
Monday, December 26:<br />
Shortly after 11:40 a.m., an officer responded to Hollister at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a female adult in custody for theft. The suspect concealed a perfume inside a used shopping bag and exited the store without making payment. The 36-year-old White female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A record check revealed the suspect had a misdemeanor bench warrant.<br />
Around 3:55 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Sports Chalet at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a fraud report. A female subject attempted to pay for merchandise with a fraudulent credit card. The loss prevention officer searched the suspect’s purse and located seventeen additional fraudulent credit cards. The 39-year-old Hispanic female was arrested for Possession of Fraudulent Access Cards, Use of Fraudulent Access Cards, and Commercial Burglary.<br />
Tuesday, December 27:<br />
Between 9:30 a.m. on December 23rd and 2:00 p.m. on December 26th, unknown suspect(s) burglarized a residence in the 000 block of Cortez Avenue while it was being fumigated. While the residents were away on vacation, the fumigation worker checked on the house and noticed the fumigation tarps were torn. The worker removed the tarps and saw the interior of the residence was ransacked. Through investigation, the officer determined the suspect(s) made entry through a kitchen window, left slightly open to allow for circulation. No one saw or heard anything suspicious.<br />
At approximately 1:42 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a grand theft report. A customer notified an employee that she saw two female suspects run out of the store with a large amount of watches. Video surveillance revealed the suspects placed the watches into a purse they were carrying and ran out of the store without making payment. Suspect one is described as a Black female, about 20 to 30-years-old, wearing a gray beanie, gray sweatshirt, and dark pants. Suspect two is described as a Black female, about 20 to 30-years-old, wearing a red sweatshirt and dark pants. The suspects fled the store parking lot in a gold 1998 Buick.<br />
Wednesday, December 28:<br />
Shortly after 11:40 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter in regards to a fraud investigation. The victim’s bank notified her of several unauthorized charges on her credit card. The victim had her credit card in possession at the time of the report. The victim has no idea how her account was compromised, and is desirous of prosecution.<br />
At about 6:03 p.m., an officer responded to H&amp;M at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding three female adults detained for theft. One suspect concealed multiple items inside a used shopping bag while the other suspects concealed merchandise inside their purses<br />
The suspects left the store without making payment. Two 18-year-old Black females and a 22-year-old Black female were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.<br />
Thursday, December 29:<br />
Around 9:48 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 000 block of Hampton Road regarding an activated burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers noticed the front door was wide open and discovered the front window was broken. The officers cleared the location and determined the suspect(s) had already fled. The victim returned to the residence and reported numerous items missing. No one heard or saw anything suspicious.<br />
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign on Colorado Boulevard at Second Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver’s registration was expired and he was driving on a suspended license. The driver also had a fraudulent year registration sticker on his license plate. The 20-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.<br />
Friday, December 30:<br />
At approximately 1:38 a.m., an officer was traveling south on Santa Anita Avenue at Live Oak Avenue, and conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle for lane swerving. Upon contact with the driver, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from inside the vehicle. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence. The 52-year-old Hispanic male was arrested for DUI and transported to the Arcadia City Jail.<br />
At about 5:53 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a theft report. The victim explained he locked his bicycle to a stair railing along the walkway to his apartment at 9:30 p.m. on December 29th, and found it missing a short time later. Unknown suspect(s) cut the cable lock and fled undetected.<br />
Saturday, December 31:<br />
Between 6:30 p.m. on December 30th and 6:30 a.m. on December 31st, unknown suspect(s) burglarized the material yard of A&amp;A Building Materials, 310 North Santa Anita Avenue. The store owner discovered over two hundred rolls of electrical wire missing. Officers determined the suspect(s) gained entry by cutting the chain and padlock that were used to secure the access gate. Although the location had surveillance cameras, officers learned the suspect(s) moved the cameras to avoid their capture.<br />
Between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into Santana’s Beauty Box, 160 West Live Oak Avenue, and ransacked the location. Officers determined the suspect(s) gained entry by breaking the glass window pane of the front door. At the time of the report, the store owner noticed a wooden acoustic guitar was missing from the salon floor, where it stood as display.</p>

Dog Bite<br />
On December 8 at 10:27 a.m., an animal control officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Encinitas on the report of a dog bite. During the power outage on December 1, an 80-year-old female subject was in her front yard when a dog approached her and bit her on the arm. The dog owner tried to stop the dog, but failed. The woman fell to the ground and was assisted by the dog owner. The woman refused medical attention and no call was made to police to report the incident. On December 8, the woman was taken to a doctor and discovered she had sustained a broken wrist. The woman’s daughter then called police to report the incident. An animal control officer was dispatched to investigate.<br />
Robbery<br />
On December 8 at 10:30 a.m., a male victim was walking in the 1100 block of Norumbega when a dark colored sedan stopped ahead of him and a male suspect exited the vehicle. The sedan drove up the street and the victim continued walking. The suspect then approached the victim and pointed a black handgun at him and demanded his property. The victim handed over his binoculars. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet and then reached for the victim’s rear pocket, but the victim slapped the suspect’s hand away. The suspect then fled south on Norumbega and got back into the sedan, which was waiting down the street. The vehicle was last seen heading south on Norumbega out of sight. The victim did not call police until 5 p.m. that evening, after being encouraged to report the incident by family members. The suspect is described as a male Black, 20 years old, 6’1”, weighing approximately 200 pounds. Investigation continuing.<br />
Vehicle Burglary<br />
On December 9 at 4:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of West Cypress regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim parked his car at approximately 6 p.m. and went to work with his co-worker. On his return at about 4:05 a.m., he discovered a window on his vehicle smashed and his stereo missing. A screwdriver was found on the front seat. Investigation continuing.<br />
Driving Under the Influence &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On December 11 at 2:33 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a subject drive through a stop sign at Myrtle and Walnut. The officer stopped the driver and noticed a strong odor of alcohol and, after investigation, determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested.<br />
Traffic Collision &#8211; Vehicle vs. Pedestrian<br />
On December 11 at 6:04 a.m., a woman was walking to work and crossing in the crosswalk on a green light when she was struck by a driver whose windows were fogged up. The driver did not see the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian complained of pain in her arm and side and was taken to a hospital for treatment.<br />
Stolen Bicycle Recovered &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On December 11 at 7:21 p.m., an officer took a report on a bicycle that was stolen from the 700 block of West Walnut. At 8:11 p.m., another officer stopped a bicyclist in the 100 block of West Maple for not having a light during darkness. The bicyclist had a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody; the bicycle he was riding was brought to the police station. The officer who took the stolen bicycle report noticed that the bicycle matched the description of the victim’s stolen bicycle. The victim came to the police station and positively identified the bicycle. The suspect was additionally charged for receiving stolen property. He claimed the bicycle belonged to a family member and he borrowed it without their knowledge or permission.<br />
Outside Assist &#8211; Possible Attempt Suicide<br />
On December 11 at 10:20 p.m., the Monterey Park Police Department called to report a suicidal female subject, possibly driving a black Honda in Monrovia. The female was text messaging her boyfriend in Monterey Park and told him she took 30 sleeping pills because she wanted to die. The female told her boyfriend she was in the 400 block of East Evergreen. The boyfriend called Monterey Park Police Department and reported the incident. Monrovia officers searched for the female, but she was not found. Approximately two hours later, Monterey Park police called back and reported the female was now possibly in the 300 block of North Myrtle. Monrovia officers began a second search and an officer eventually located the female subject in the 300 block of North Melrose. She claimed to have taken 20 sleeping pills and was taken to a hospital by ambulance.<br />
Residential Burglaries<br />
On December 13 at 8:23 p.m., two residential burglaries were reported that occurred on a lot in the 500 block of West Maple. In both cases, the unknown suspect(s) gained entry by prying open the rear door of the residence. The front house was ransacked and jewelry was stolen. There was minor ransacking in the back house, but nothing was taken.<br />
Mountain Lion<br />
On December 14 at 2:37 a.m., police received a call reporting a mountain lion in the 800 block of East Lemon. Officers responded and found an adult mountain lion, possibly a female, in a yard in the 800 block of East Lemon. It appeared to have an open wound next to its left eye. The officers fired two beanbag rounds, which motivated the mountain lion to move back into the hills.<br />
Drug Violations<br />
On December 14 at 2:56 p.m., Monrovia Special Enforcement Team officers on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. This encounter led to the officers conducting a search of the vehicle, which revealed hidden drug contraband under the pad of a child seat. The driver was arrested and booked for numerous drug violations.<br />
Grand Theft Auto<br />
On December 14 at 5:51 p.m., police responded to Mckinley Place and Foothill regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that he parked his vehicle on the street. When he returned to where he had parked it, the vehicle was not there and he could not find his keys. The vehicle is a white, two-door, Lexus SC300. Investigation continuing.<br />
Grand Theft Auto<br />
On December 14 at 6:12 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 700 block of East Central on the report of a stolen vehicle. The theft occurred between 6:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. The victim parked and locked his vehicle on the street and went into work for the day. When he returned at the end of the day, his vehicle was missing. The vehicle is a black, 2004, Chevy Silverado pickup truck. The victim reported that there was an unloaded handgun in the vehicle at the time it was stolen, but there was no ammunition in the truck. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Sierra Madre PD<br />
During the week of Sunday, December 18th, 2011 to Saturday, December 24th, 2011 the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 245 calls for service.<br />
Sunday, December 18th<br />
12:09 PM – Residential Burglary – 800 block of Skyland Drive. Officers responded to a burglary investigation and found the burglary actually occurred between the period of 12-12-11 and 12-18-11. Unknown suspect(s) entered the attached garage that was left open and stole four snowboards, a snowboarding jacket and a pair of pants from the garage. Once inside the garage, the suspect(s) then entered an unlocked television room, which is next to the garage, and stole an Xbox video game console. The total loss was estimated at approximately $3,500.00.<br />
7:51 PM – Arrest, Public Intoxication, 00 block of Kersting Court. Officers responded to a call of an intoxicated man in front of Lucky Baldwin’s. He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Pasadena Police Department jail for booking.<br />
Monday, December 19th<br />
9:57 AM – Theft of Identity, 300 block of Churchill Road. The resident reported being the victim of theft of identity after discovering that someone fraudulently used his credit card information and made an unauthorized purchase on his account.<br />
1:35 PM – Theft of Identity, 600 block of Auburn Ave. The resident reported being the victim of theft of identity after discovering that someone fraudulently used her credit information to obtained telephone service without the victim’s permission.<br />
10:54 PM – Arrest, Suspended License, Baldwin Ave and Sierra Madre Blvd. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license. The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.<br />
Tuesday, December 20th<br />
7:40 AM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, 500 block Mount Wilson Trail. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license. The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.<br />
Wednesday, December 21st<br />
12:21 PM – Arrest, Suspended License, Foothill Blvd and Baldwin Ave, in Arcadia. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license. The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.<br />
5:25 PM – Elder Abuse of Financial Fraud, 600 block of Canyon Crest. Adult Protective Services alerted SMPD of a possible financial abuse to an elderly man. Officers discovered the elderly man was a victim of a telephone scam, after he sent $500.00 to an out-of-state bogus publishing company.<br />
Friday, December 23rd<br />
10:14 AM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, Santa Anita Ave and Grandview Ave. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license. The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.<br />
1:35 PM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver and Possession of Marijuana. Sierra Madre Blvd and Michillinda Ave. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license and was in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. The motorist was cited for the violations and released on a written promise to appear in court.<br />
10:01 PM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, Baldwin Ave and Hampton Rd, in Arcadia. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Saturday, December 24th<br />
12:42 AM – Arrest, Public Intoxication, 00 block of Kersting Court. Officers handled an incident of a disruptive customer that refused to leave Lucky Baldwin’s. Officers arrested them man for public intoxication and took him to the Pasadena Police Department jail for booking.<br />
9:09 PM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver and Possession of Marijuana, Orange Grove Ave and Rancho Rd. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license and his passenger was in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Both men were cited for the violations and released on a written promise to appear in court.</p>

Possession of Marijuana: Deputy Waldman arrested a MH/16 for Possession of Marijuana for Sales at Longden Av/ Oak Av. The subject was jaywalking with another male juvenile. Deputy Waldman smelled the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the subject. The subject was in possession of two glass jars containing marijuana and evidence indicating he possessed the marijuana with the intent to sell. The subject additionally had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject is a resident of the city of San Gabriel.<br />
Residential<br />
Burglary: A Residential Burglary occurred between 9:30AM-6:30PM, in the 4900 block of Golden West Av. The victim said she left her residence in the morning with the rear door unlocked. When she returned, she found her bedroom ransacked and her computer and other items missing. There were no reported witnesses<br />
Petty Theft: A Petty Theft occurred at 5:35PM in the 9600 block of Las Tunas Dr. The victim is a business owner, who had locked bicycles on display in front of his business. The neighboring business owner informed the victim, he saw someone steal one of the victim&#8217;s bikes and ride away. The neighboring business video camera showed the suspect ride up to the bicycles on display, then cut the display lock and ride away on his bicycle. The suspect returned on foot a short time later and stole one of the victim&#8217;s bikes from the display and rode away.<br />
Petty Theft: A Petty Theft occurred between 3:39PM-3:43PM, in the 9400 block of Las Tunas Dr. The victim used the restroom at a local business and forgot her purse when she exited. Approximately two minutes later, the victim returned to get her purse when she saw an employee in the restroom, and discovered $200.00 U.S. currency missing from her purse. The victim confronted the employee, who denied taking the money. A video camera showed the victim exit the restroom, than the employee enter the restroom a short time later. Within minutes, the victim is seen reentering to the restroom and the employee is the only person in the area. When Deputies arrived the completed his shift and was gone for the day. Deputies were unable to contact the employee at the time of the report.<br />
False<br />
Identification: Deputy Harrington arrested/field released a MA/44 at 10:25AM for Possession of False Registration, in the 9000 block of Las Tunas Dr. The suspect was detained for expired vehicle registration, but had a current registration tab on his vehicle license plate. The registration tab was a duplicate from a family member&#8217;s vehicle. The suspect is a resident of the city of San Gabriel.<br />
Burglary<br />
Vehicle: A Vehicle Burglary occurred between 12/19 8:30PM &#8211; 12/20 7:15AM, in the 6100 block of Camellia Av. The victim parked and locked his vehicle in the driveway of his residence. When he returned, he discovered his vehicle was burglarized and several items were stolen from the vehicle. There were no reported witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
December 21, 2011<br />
Petty Theft: A Petty Theft occurred at 2:00PM in the 9400 block of Las Tunas Dr. The victim was shopping at a local business and left her purse inside of a shopping cart. Once the victim arrived home, she realized her purse was missing. A short time later, the victim was contacted by a male who said he found the purse. The victim&#8217;s wallet was additionally recovered and turned into city hall. The victim was missing $200.00 in U.S. currency, but recovered the majority of her property. There were no reported witnesses or video of the incident.<br />
Forgery: Deputy Williams arrested a FH/22 for Forgery at 2:20PM in the 8900 block of Las Tunas Dr. The suspect attempted to open an account with a fictitious driver&#8217;s license she purchased from someone on the street. The suspect is a resident of the city of Rosemead.<br />
December 22, 2011<br />
Petty Theft: A Petty Theft occurred at 2:15 PM in the 5700 block of Baldwin Av. The victim placed his unlocked bicycle on the porch in front of his house. When the victim returned, he discovered his bike was gone. There were no reported witnesses or video surveillance of the incident.<br />
December 23, 2011<br />
Petty Theft: A Petty Theft occurred at 2:00PM in the 5700 block of Noel Dr. The victim was informed by her neighbors, that a male individual on a bicycle stole two brown packages from her front porch. One of the neighbors followed the suspect to a residence and directed deputy personnel to the location, but no one was located at the time. This is an ongoing investigation.<br />
Burglary<br />
(Shoplifting): A Burglary Shoplifting occurred at 2:50PM in the 5600 block of Rosemead Bl. The suspects entered a local business and stole approximately six DVD videos. When a store security officer went to detain the suspects, they ran to a nearby vehicle and drove away. There is a witness and video surveillance of the theft. This is an ongoing investigation.<br />
Burglary<br />
(Commercial): A Commercial Burglary occurred at 11:30PM in the 10100 block of Bogue St. The victim said someone cut a hole into the window of the administration office building and stole $6.00 dollars from a desk. There were no reported witnesses, but there is possibly video of the incident.<br />
December 24, 2011<br />
Battery: A Battery was reported on 12/24, but occurred on 12/21 at 8:00PM, in the 9600 block of Lower Azusa Rd. The victim said she got into an argument with a business owner, when she was pulled out of her chair and struck several times, then guided out the business by an unknown person. There were no reported witnesses or video surveillance of the incident at this time.<br />
This includes significant crimes and is not inclusive of all crimes in Temple City.</p>

<p>For the period of Sunday, July 11, through Saturday, July 17, the Police Department responded to 954 calls for service of which 122 required formal investigations.  The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.</p>
<p>Sunday, July 11:</p>
<p>Between 2:20 p.m. and 2:35 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 2400 block of El Monte.  Unknown suspects entered the home through an unlocked bedroom window and stole a plasma television, DVD player, cameras, laptop computer, and other miscellaneous property.  The homeowner returned home and saw three male Hispanic subjects in a green vehicle leave the scene. </p>
<p>Around 10:25 p.m., a consensual contact was made with a bicyclist at Live Oak and Second.  The 54-year-old male Hispanic parolee consented to a search, and officers found a smoking pipe and baggies containing methamphetamine and marijuana.  The subject also had a misdemeanor warrant and was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony parole violation.</p>
<p>Monday, July 12:</p>
<p>A residential burglary occurred in the 1000 block of Fairview between 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Unknown suspect(s) smashed a window to gain entrance into the house.  The suspect(s) then ransacked rooms and stole cash.</p>
<p>Units responded to Westfield Mall around 3:46 p.m. in reference to two 18-year-old subjects detained for theft.  While in the American Apparel store, one Filipino female was seen concealing merchandise in her purse; the other Chinese female was located outside the store wearing a stolen jacket from Cotton On.  Private persons’ arrests were made, and they were taken into custody without incident.</p>
<p>Tuesday, July 13:</p>
<p>Shortly after 2:30 a.m., units were dispatched to the 800 block of West Huntington in reference to a restraining order violation.  Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle with three occupants.  A 27-year-old male Caucasian suspect was sitting in the back seat with computer equipment and a duffle bag containing credit cards and personal identifying information belonging to different individuals.  In a previous incident, the suspect held a knife to a woman’s throat and took her cell phone.  The man was arrested for robbery and receiving stolen property.</p>
<p>Around 10:00 p.m., a witness saw three male subjects attempting to pry open a rear window of a closed business in the 00 block of East Duarte.  Officers located the suspects in an alley and they admitted to trying to break into the business to steal property.  Two Caucasian suspects, ages 16 and 18, and an 18-year-old Hispanic were taken into custody for attempted commercial burglary.</p>
<p>Wednesday, July 14:</p>
<p>A victim came to the station around 10:19 a.m. to file a fraud report.  She was checking her account online and discovered an unauthorized transfer of almost $16,000 into a bank account that did not belong to her.</p>
<p>Between 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 00 block of East Colorado.  Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the residence by smashing a window and then reaching inside to unlock the front door.  The suspect(s) then stole a semi-automatic rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, and several ammunition clips.</p>
<p>Thursday, July 15:<br />
Officers were sent to the 5600 block of North Peck around 1:00 p.m. regarding a fraud investigation.  The owner mailed a check for $80,337 in March, and in June she discovered that the check had not reached the recipient but was cashed at a check cashing business.</p>
<p>Around 3:18 p.m., units responded to the 300 block of Fairview in reference to two male subjects possibly smoking marijuana.  An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a driver’s license belonging to another individual. </p>
<p>Friday, July 16:<br />
A victim came to the station around 7:45 p.m. to file an identity theft report.  On July 9, she received an overdue notice from a collection agency.  She checked her credit report and discovered that a line of credit with a balance of $11,242 was opened using her personal identifying information without her knowledge.<br />
Between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., a 1998 black Honda Civic was stolen from the Peacock parking structure located at Westfield Mall.</p>
<p>Saturday, July 17:At approximately 3:00 p.m., units were called to County Park regarding an assault that just occurred.  A 46-year-old female Caucasian transient was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon when she attempted to strike a male transient with her vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the two transients were involved in a physical altercation several hours prior to the assault.<br />
Loss prevention personnel from JC Penney detained a woman for theft around 4:50 p.m.  The suspect was seen concealing a necklace in her bra and then left the store without making payment.  She stole 14 pieces of jewelry from JC Penney and 3 necklaces from Claires for a total of $661.  A private person’s arrest was made, and the 30-year-old Hispanic was taken into custody for grand theft.</p>
<p>Monrovia PD</p>
<p>During the last seven day period, the Police Department handled 614 service events, resulting in 118 investigations. Following are the last week&#8217;s highlighted issues and events:<br />
Vehicle Burglary<br />
On July 9 at 9:58 a.m., an officer responded to the report of a vehicle burglary. The victim parked his commercial plumbing vehicle in the 500 block of West Foothill at approximately 9 p.m. in the evening. He returned to his truck at 10 a.m. the next morning and discovered the lock drilled out and the contents of the truck had been stolen. There was some evidence found at the scene, however, no witnesses were located. Investigation continuing.<br />
Grand Theft Auto Recovery<br />
On July 9 at 1:54 p.m., the California Highway Patrol located a vehicle reported stolen out of Monrovia. The vehicle was found abandoned on the 605 Freeway, south of Live Oak. The car had a flat tire and was not drivable. The car was towed off the freeway to be dusted for possible fingerprints. No other evidence was found. The victims took possession of the vehicle later in the day. Investigation continuing.<br />
Driving Under the Influence &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On July 10 at 12:18 a.m., an officer was dispatched regarding a possible intoxicated driver in the 400 block of West Foothill. The caller gave a vehicle description and license plate number. The officer located the vehicle driving south on Magnolia. The driver then turned west on Colorado and drove partially into the eastbound lane. The driver was stopped and determined to be driving while under the influence. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.<br />
Drug Activity &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On July 10 at 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of West Colorado regarding a disturbance. When officers arrived, they noticed a subject trying to leave the area on a bicycle. As the officers approached, the subject dropped a plastic baggie. The officers recovered the baggie and found it contained nine ecstasy pills. A further search of the suspect revealed a small plastic container which contained 44 acid tabs. The suspect was arrested and brought to the station.<br />
Residential Burglary<br />
On July 10 at 1:44 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of North Encinitas regarding a burglary investigation. The officer located a witness that could possibly identify the suspect. The witness said the suspect approached the residence carrying an empty athletic bag. The witness lost sight of the suspect for a short time, and when he saw him again, the athletic bag was full. The suspect was described as a 20-year-old male subject wearing a dirty, white tank top and blue jeans, with a dark pompadour hairstyle. Investigation continuing.<br />
Missing Person Located<br />
On July 11 at 9:30 p.m., a subject called and reported his 87-year-old mother was missing. At the time of the officer&#8217;s report, the evidence showed she had made a purchase at a business in Monrovia at 1:20 p.m. The woman had been missing for approximately eight hours. She has no major illnesses or problems and is fairly independent. The son stated that she owns a vehicle and drives herself around, but does not drive at night. He also said it was possible that she stayed at a friend&#8217;s house because it was late. One of her sons stated she has done this once before. The sons called all her relatives and known friends in the San Gabriel Valley, but she was not found.<br />
The missing person and her vehicle were entered into the missing person data system. The dispatcher completed a missing person teletype and also individually called local agencies to see if they had any contact with the missing person. She was also put into the local hospital information networking system in case she showed up at a hospital in the area. Officers searched the entire city, checking all parking lots and the streets near her home.<br />
On July 13 at 12:13 a.m., the woman returned home. She claimed she was driving around Los Angeles and downtown, but could not remember much.<br />
Residential Burglary<br />
On July 12 at 7:13 a.m., an officer went to the 300 block of Wildrose regarding a residential burglary. The residence has a detached garage that is adjacent to an alley. The suspect entered through a side pedestrian door and stole a GPS, the victim&#8217;s notary stamp and her notary journal. Investigation continuing.<br />
Vehicle Burglary<br />
On July 12 at 1:21 p.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of North Canyon on the report of a vehicle burglary. The victim parked and secured her vehicle in a parking area just south of the pay booth and went on a hike in the park. When she returned to her vehicle, she saw the right rear passenger window had been shattered. She checked her vehicle and noted her leather purse, which was on the floorboard behind the driver&#8217;s seat, was missing. Investigation continuing.<br />
Vehicle Burglary<br />
On July 12 at 2:53 p.m., an officer went to the 100 block of West Cypress regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim&#8217;s vehicle was parked in an enclosed carport area. The suspect punched a round hole in the left rear window, just big enough for his arm to fit through, and unlocked the door. The car stereo was taken. Investigation continuing.<br />
Medical Assist<br />
On July 12 at 3:01 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a medical assist call at an apartment in the 200 block of West Walnut. A 35-year-old male subject was down. When the officer arrived, he found the male subject lying on the floor unresponsive, not breathing and without a pulse. The officer began CPR, which he performed until Monrovia Fire Department paramedics arrived and took over. The subject was taken to a hospital, where he was stabilized.<br />
Vehicle Burglary<br />
On July 12 at 4:23 p.m., an officer went to a parking lot in the 1600 block of South Myrtle regarding a vehicle break-in. The subject had parked and locked his vehicle in the morning and left it in the lot. He returned in the afternoon, shortly after 4 p.m., and found the front passenger window had been smashed and the stereo removed. Investigation continuing.<br />
Domestic Violence &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On July 13 at 7:50 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Monterey regarding a 911 hang up call. The female subject at the residence stated she and her husband were arguing and he struck her in the face, causing her nose to bleed. The husband then left for work. The female refused paramedics and refused an Emergency Protective Order. The officer went to the husband&#8217;s place of work to follow up and arrested him for domestic violence.<br />
Vehicle Burglary<br />
On July 13 at 11:20 a.m., an officer went to the 400 block of Linwood regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim parked and locked her vehicle on the street at 5 p.m. the day before, and when she returned to it the next day, she saw the front passenger door ajar. She checked the interior and found the glove box open and ransacked. Investigation continuing.<br />
Grand Theft Auto<br />
On July 14 at 9:21 a.m., an officer went to a car dealership in the 700 block of East Central regarding a stolen vehicle. A silver, 2010, Chevy truck was stolen sometime between 9 p.m. on July 13 and 6 a.m. on July 14. All keys are accounted for and there was no evidence of forced entry. Investigation continuing.<br />
Public Assist<br />
On July 14 at 4:49 p.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of North Canyon regarding a female reporting she had locked herself out of the house and her six month old child was inside. The officer was eventually able to unlock the door through a doggie door. The child was fine.</p>
<p>Sierra Madre PD</p>
<p>During the week of Sunday, July 4th, to Saturday July 10th, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 339 calls for service.</p>
<p>Wednesday, July 7th:</p>
<p>9:35 PM – Trespassing on private property, 38 West Sierra Madre Blvd.,  Renaissance Plaza. A resident heard noises on the roof of the apartment complex and called police after finding two teenagers on the roof.  Officers arrested a 17 year old male from La Canada and a 17 year old female from Pasadena. The two juveniles were transported to the police station where they issued citations and released to their parents. </p>

<p>For the period of Sunday, March 21, through Saturday, March 27, the Police Department responded to 860 calls for service of which 116 required formal investigations.  The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.</p>
<p>Sunday, March 21:</p>
<p>1. Between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., an auto burglary occurred in the 300 block of South First.  Unknown suspect(s) smashed a car window and stole a notebook computer, guitar, and amplifier for a total reported loss of $1,850.</p>
<p>2. A residential burglary occurred in the 1100 block of Michillinda between 4:40 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.  Unknown suspect(s) broke a living room window to gain entrance into the house.  The suspect(s) then ransacked rooms and stole cash, gold coins, and jewelry.</p>
<p>Monday, March 22:</p>
<p>3. Two vehicle thefts occurred between 6:30 p.m. on March 19 and 8:00 a.m. on March 22.  A 1994 white Ford Probe was stolen in the 500 block of Fairview, and a 2006 white Ford Econoline van was stolen in the 11900 block of Goldring.</p>
<p>4. Shortly after 1:30 p.m., a female victim came to the station to report a domestic violence incident that occurred on Saturday, March 20, in the 1000 block of West Huntington.  She advised that during an argument, her intoxicated boyfriend struck her numerous times across the face resulting in bruising.  An emergency protection order was obtained.  On March 23, at 7:20 a.m., officers went to the residence and arrested the 26-year-old male Hispanic for inflicting corporal injury to cohabitant and the emergency protection order was served.</p>
<p>Tuesday, March 23:</p>
<p>5. A victim came to the station around 2:54 a.m. to file an identity theft report.  He advised that unknown suspect(s) had acquired his personal information and attempted to open several credit card accounts via the internet and telephone.</p>
<p>6. A residential burglary occurred in the 2800 block of South Baldwin between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Unknown suspect(s) entered the home by unknown means and stole a laptop computer, gaming and computer equipment, and jewelry.</p>
<p>Wednesday, March 24:</p>
<p>7. Around 11:35 a.m., units responded to the 800 block of Murietta in reference to a suicide in progress.  A 34-year-old distraught female tried to kill herself by cutting her wrists with razor blades and then threatened to stab herself with scissors.  The woman was transported to a hospital for medical treatment and a psychological evaluation.</p>
<p>8. Officers contacted a male driver who was sitting in a vehicle that was parked next to a fire hydrant at Peck and Clark around 2:24 p.m.  A record check revealed that the 51-year-old Hispanic had 5 outstanding misdemeanor warrants totaling $176,000, and he was also found in possession of marijuana.  During the time of the arrest, a 27-year-old male Hispanic walked up claiming to be a friend of the arrestee.  A record check of this individual indicated that he had four outstanding warrants, so both men were taken into custody.</p>
<p>Thursday, March 25:</p>
<p>9. Around 12:11 p.m., officers found a vehicle with a warrant attached to the license plate, so a traffic stop was initiated at Duarte and Holly.  The 38-year-old female Hispanic driver had a suspended/revoked license and a $30,000 outstanding warrant; a 24-year-old female Hispanic passenger had warrants totaling $40,000.  The women were arrested and booked at City jail.</p>
<p>10. Units were dispatched to Baldwin and Arcadia around 4:28 p.m. regarding a multi-car non-injury traffic collision.  A driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn and broadsided a vehicle, causing it to collide into a light pole.  The light pole then fell onto another moving vehicle.</p>
<p>
Friday, March 26:</p>
<p>11. Around 6:45 a.m., APD officers assisted the Probation Department in a probation compliance check in the 1000 block of Alta Vista.  A 24-year-old male Caucasian was found in possession of ammunition, which violated his probation.  The subject was taken into custody without incident.</p>
<p>12. Units responded to Residence Inn, 321 East Huntington, around 9:52 a.m. to investigate a defrauding an innkeeper and fraudulent check incident.  A male Asian suspect paid for his hotel stay with a $1,446 fictitious check.</p>
<p>Saturday, March 27:</p>
<p>13. Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Loganrita regarding a grand theft that occurred between 2:00 p.m. on March 25 and 4:00 p.m. on March 26.  Unknown suspect(s) stole three brand new ceiling fans and two decorative lights from a home that is being renovated.</p>
<p>14. Around 10:10 p.m., a car was observed swerving off the roadway and a traffic stop was conducted at Santa Anita and the 210 Freeway.  A female driver was contacted and there was also a seven-year child passenger.  Officers detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver&#8217;s breath and person, and a field sobriety test revealed that she was operating the vehicle while under the influence.  The 46-year-old Caucasian was arrested for child cruelty and DUI.</p>
<p>Sierra Madre PD</p>
<p>During the week of Sunday, March 21st, to Saturday March 27th, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 296 calls for service.</p>
<p>Thursday, March 25th:<br />
4:49 PM &#8211; Residential Burglary / Assault with a Deadly Weapon, 500 Block North Sunnyside Ave. A resident reported seeing a man throw an object at the neighbors&#8217; house, which was followed by screaming. Officers arrived and apprehended a man, who was fleeing the home. Further investigation revealed the suspect smashed a window, entered the home and assaulted the resident. The suspect was arrested for residential burglary and assault with a deadly weapon, and transported to Pasadena Jail for remand.</p>
<p>Monrovia PD</p>
<p>During the last seven day period, the Police Department handled 593 service events, resulting in 149 investigations. Following are the last week&#8217;s highlighted issues and events:</p>
<p>Vandalism<br />
On March 22 at 6:41 a.m., an officer went to an elementary school in the 400 block of West Colorado regarding a call of vandalism. On his arrival, he was shown graffiti on the south end of the main building written in black spray paint. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.</p>
<p>Mental Evaluation<br />
On March 22 at 7:22 a.m., an officer was in the process of releasing a female subject who was in custody for driving under the influence. During the process, she told the officer she wanted to hurt herself and was contemplating suicide. The female was not released and was taken to a hospital and held for mental evaluation.</p>
<p>Department of Child and Family Services Referral<br />
On March 22 at 1:46 p.m., an officer was on a traffic stop in front of a residence in the 100 block of North Myrtle. While there, he heard what sounded like a family disturbance coming from an open window of an apartment. Assisting officers responded to investigate. When they arrived, they discovered two 11-year-old brothers inside. They had been yelling and playing around. While the officers were inside, they found the location to be extremely dirty, providing poor living conditions for the children. An officer made contact with the mother, who responded to the location. He wrote an incident report and is referring the case to the Department of Child and Family Services and City Code Enforcement.</p>
<p>Driving Under the Influence &#8211; Suspect Arrested<br />
On March 22 at 3:49 p.m., we received a call from a concerned driver who was reporting a possible drunk driver. An officer responded to the area and observed the vehicle coming out of a gas station at Huntington and Monterey and stopped the vehicle. A field sobriety test was conducted and the driver was determined to be driving under the influence. He was arrested and charged.</p>
<p>Grand Theft Auto<br />
On March 22 at 5:49 p.m., an officer went to a business in the 1600 block of South Mountain regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim parked his vehicle in the morning at 7 a.m. and secured it. He returned to his vehicle shortly before 6 p.m. and his vehicle was gone. The vehicle is a white, 1990 Nissan truck. There were no signs of forced entry. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Grand Theft from Person<br />
On March 24 at 7:55 p.m., an officer responded to the 500 Block of West Huntington regarding a female victim who had her purse stolen from her. Officers were in the area quickly and a perimeter was set. A yard to yard search uncovered some of the stolen property but not the victim&#8217;s wallet or purse. The suspects were not located. Investigation continuing.</p>

<p>For the period of Sunday, March 28, through Saturday, April 3, the Police Department responded to 974 calls for service of which 138 required formal investigations.  The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.</p>
<p>Sunday, March 28:</p>
<p>1. Shortly after 6:00 p.m., loss prevention personnel from Macy&#8217;s advised that they had detained a man for theft.  One male suspect removed the sensor tag from a pair of jeans while a second male Hispanic suspect hid the jeans inside the front of his pants and then left the store without making payment.  A private person&#8217;s arrest was made, and a 34-year-old man was taken into custody for commercial burglary, petty theft with prior conviction, and false information to peace officer.  A razor blade and wire cutters were also found on his person.</p>
<p>2. Units responded to Santa Anita and Duarte around 10:40 p.m. in reference to a possible drunk driver.  A witness advised that a driver was seen swerving between lanes of traffic.  Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Santa Anita and Freer in Temple City.  A 70-year-old male Hispanic was arrested for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.</p>
<p>
Monday, March 29:</p>
<p>3. Around 11:44 p.m., units were dispatched to the 100 block of Fano regarding a grand theft that occurred between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on March 28.  Unknown suspect(s) removed two ceramic elephant statues from a front porch.  The total reported loss was $1,000.</p>
<p>4. A witness was traveling on Santa Anita around 1:00 p.m. when he saw a male driver brandish a handgun out the window.  The driver and his companion parked at the Denny&#8217;s parking lot and entered the restaurant.  A 19-year-old man was contacted and a consent search revealed an all black handgun on the car seat, which looked like a real handgun.  It was later determined to be an air-soft pistol.  The man was arrested for removal of safety color from replica handgun and public display of imitation firearm.</p>
<p>Tuesday, March 30:</p>
<p>5. Two DUI drivers were seen swerving in the roadway and arrested.  A 35-year-old male Caucasian was arrested by the 100-to-1 Bar, 100 West Huntington, around 1:43 a.m., and a 43-year-old female Hispanic was arrested at Sixth and Live Oak around 2:56 a.m.</p>
<p>6. Units were sent to Albertsons, 298 East Live Oak, around 3:26 p.m. in regards to a commercial burglary that occurred around 1:26 p.m.  Loss prevention personnel were reviewing their security tape footage and saw 2 heavyset female Hispanics hide 11 cans of infant formula in their purses and then left the store without making payment.</p>
<p>Wednesday, March 31:</p>
<p>7. Shortly before 1:30 p.m., officers responded to Jaluxe, a fashion boutique located at Westfield Mall regarding an embezzlement report.  The owner&#8217;s investigation revealed that an assistant manager was significantly discounting merchandise for herself and others.  On April 2, a 17-year-old female Hispanic assistant manager and a 19-year-old female Hispanic sales associate were taken into custody for grand theft and embezzlement.</p>
<p>8. Between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 2300 block of South Fifth.  Unknown suspect(s) pried open the front door and stole two Rolex watches, cash, and a wedding band.</p>
<p>Thursday, April 1:</p>
<p>9. Units responded to the 700 block of La Vida in reference to a residential burglary that occurred between 9:30 p.m. on March 31 and 7:45 a.m. on April 1.  The resident was leaving for work in the morning when she discovered that her wallet and briefcase were missing and her vehicle was stolen from her garage.  A neighbor had security surveillance video and it showed two male Hispanic suspects walk toward the victim&#8217;s house around 10:57 p.m. and then the victim&#8217;s car was seen leaving the area.  The stolen vehicle was later recovered in El Monte.</p>
<p>10. Around 2:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to First Avenue School regarding a grand theft incident.  A 13-year-old male student was walking with a friend at First and California, and he was holding $10 in his hand.  A male Caucasian, 35-40 years of age, 5&#8217;9&#8243;, blond hair, approached and asked for money to buy food.  Before the victim could give the suspect any dollar bills, the suspect grabbed the money from the juvenile&#8217;s hand and fled on foot.  An area check was conducted, but the suspect was not found.</p>
<p>Friday, April 2:</p>
<p>11. Units were sent to the 1000 block of Woodacre around 6:52 a.m. in reference to a theft.  The victim suspected that her daughter had been stealing her jewelry and selling them in order to buy drugs.  A 36-year-old female Caucasian was contacted and a consent search revealed a baggie containing methamphetamine, and a smoking pipe was found inside the house.  The woman was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.</p>
<p>12. Between 6:00 p.m. on April 1 and 7:30 a.m. on April 2, an auto burglary occurred in the 300 block of West Longden.  A purse was stolen from the vehicle and the suspect(s) used the victim&#8217;s credit card to make $1,200 in unauthorized purchases from the Macy&#8217;s website.</p>
<p>Saturday, April 3:</p>
<p>13. Around 3:22 a.m., units responded to a Fire Station located at 710 South Santa Anita in regards to a battery that just occurred at 7 Genoa.  A female victim advised that her boyfriend choked her during an argument and she ran to get help.  She had red marks on her neck and upper chest area.  Officers went to the residence and arrested a 22-year-old male Hispanic.</p>
<p>14. A 1997 black Honda CRV was stolen from the 1300 block of South Golden West between 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.</p>
<p>Sierra Madre PD</p>
<p>During the week of Sunday, March 28th, to Saturday April 3rd, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 225 calls for service.</p>
<p>Monday, March 29th:</p>
<p>10:41 AM &#8211; Petty Theft, Oak Crest Drive and Carter Ave. A resident reported a Neighborhood Watch sign and a Not a Through Street sign were stolen from the corner of Oak Crest Drive and Carter Avenue. The signs were discovered missing on Wednesday 3/24/2010. The loss was estimated at $70.00.</p>
<p>4:16 PM &#8211; Vandalism, 500 block Acacia Street. A resident reported her sprinkler was pulled out from her lawn. The home has several campaign signs displayed on her front lawn. She believes the vandalism is due to the upcoming elections. The crime occurred between 6:00 pm, Sunday, 3/28/2010 and 3:00 pm, Monday, 3/29/2010.</p>
<p>Saturday, April 3rd:</p>
<p>6:38 PM &#8211; Petty Theft, 400 block West Grandview Ave. A resident reported the theft of three political campaign signs from the front yard. The crime occurred between 3:00 pm, Wednesday, 4/3/2010 and 6:00 pm, Saturday, 4/3/2010.</p>

Monrovia PD</p>
<p>Mental Evaluation<br />
On April 2, at 5:13 p.m., an officer responded to a call of a male subject walking completely naked in the alley of the 400 Block of West Walnut. Officers arrived and detained him. His clothes were nearby and were recovered prior to being transported to the hospital. He is a known subject with a history of mental health problems.</p>
<p>Medical Assist<br />
On April 3, at 8:24 a.m., an officer responded to the area regarding a male yelling for help from the wash in the area of Royal Oaks and Mountain. Officers found the male in the wash near city yards. The subject told officers he fell into the wash near Londgen in Irwindale. He sustained an injury to his head from the fall and had abrasions on both knees and his feet. The subject claimed he was in the wash for approximately 12-15 hours trying to get out and yelling for help but nobody could hear him. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and later released.</p>
<p>Stalking, Brandishing a Firearm and Possession of Controlled Substance<br />
On April 3, at 6:15 p.m., the Special Enforcement Team was working a stalking case involving a Du Roc gang-member who was involved in a brandishing a firearm several weeks ago and was now stalking the victim. When they arrived at the scene the suspect had fled. Patrol officers saw the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. A field show up was conducted and the victim identified the suspect. Special Enforcement Team searched of the suspect&#8217;s hotel room. The firearm was not located, but rock cocaine was recovered. The suspect was arrested and booked. The investigation is continuing.</p>

<p>For the period of Sunday, April 4, through Saturday, April 10, the Police Department responded to 1,005 calls for service of which 144 required formal investigations.  The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.</p>
<p>Sunday, April 4:</p>
<p>1. Units responded to Baldwin Stocker School, 422 West Lemon, around 1:15 a.m. in reference to an audible alarm.  Upon arrival, officers found a classroom door was pried open and six laptop computers were found on the ground.  The unknown suspects were probably frightened away by the alarm.</p>
<p>2. Around 2:25 p.m., officers were called to Hilton Gardens Inn, 199 North Second, regarding a grand theft report.  Two male Hispanic suspects stayed at the hotel between April 2 and April 4.  Upon their departure, a housekeeper discovered that two flat screen televisions, blankets, towels, clock radio, and hair dryer were stolen.</p>
<p>Monday, April 5:</p>
<p>3. Between 7:00 a.m. and 12:35 p.m., a 1994 green Honda Accord was stolen from the 500 block of North First.</p>
<p>4. An auto burglary occurred between 5:50 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. in the 100 block of East Live Oak.  Unknown suspect(s) broke a car window and stole a backpack containing the victim&#8217;s wallet and other miscellaneous property for a reported loss of over $2,245.  The suspect(s) then used the victim&#8217;s credit card to make almost $400 in fraudulent charges at a Target store and a liquor store.</p>
<p>Tuesday, April 6:</p>
<p>5. Two victims came to the station around 3:00 p.m. to file a fraud report.  Their credit union notified them of a possible fraudulent activity on their joint account.  When they checked their account information, they discovered that unknown suspect(s) had made a $212 unauthorized transaction at a CVS store in Florida.</p>
<p>6. Around 7:33 p.m., officers were called to the 200 block of West Palm in reference to an AMC violation.  Two Hispanic subjects, a man and a woman, were found going through the recycling bin in front of a residence.  There were also two trucks parked nearby filled with recyclables.  They were cited for trash picking and released in the field.</p>
<p>Wednesday, April 7:</p>
<p>7. Between 11:00 p.m. on April 6 and 5:30 a.m. on April 7, a residential burglary occurred in the 1000 block of La Cadena.  Unknown suspect(s) entered the residence via an unlocked second story sliding glass door.  The suspect(s) then stole miscellaneous property and the victim&#8217;s car.  The car was later recovered by LAPD after being involved in a hit-and-run accident.</p>
<p>8. A residential burglary occurred in the 00 block of West Woodruff between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Unknown suspect(s) entered the home through an unlocked window and stole jewelry, watches, and cash.  The total reported loss was over $36,000.</p>
<p>Thursday, April 8:</p>
<p>9. Shortly after 4:00 a.m., units responded to the 700 block of Arcadia regarding two prowlers seen in a backyard.  An area check was conducted and officers found a 43-year-old male Caucasian hiding in one of the yards.  A record check revealed that the suspect was on parole, and he was taken into custody for loitering and was placed on a parole hold.</p>
<p>10. A grand theft from auto occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Country Oaks.  A gardener saw a male Hispanic, 20-40 years of age, rummaging through his client&#8217;s vehicle.  When he questioned the suspect, the man drove away in a grey Ford Escort.  The victim advised that she had left her car unlocked and that the suspect had stolen an $800 designer coin purse with about $20 in change.</p>

Friday, April 9:</p>
<p>11. Officers were dispatched to the 99 Cent Store, 140 East Duarte, around 9:14 a.m. regarding a fraud investigation.  The manager advised that the corporate office had discovered several unauthorized credit card transactions were made to obtain about $900 in gift cards.  The manager reviewed surveillance footage from the date of the transactions and discovered three male subjects, Hispanic or Caucasian, using fraudulent credit cards to make the purchases.</p>
<p>12. Between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., a grand theft occurred at 24-Hour Fitness, 125 North First.  A retired LAPD officer was exercising at the gym, and an unknown suspect defeated the combination lock and stole the victim&#8217;s revolver, holster, and cash.</p>
<p>Saturday, April 10:</p>
<p>13. Units were dispatched to Arcadia Methodist Hospital around 7:51 a.m. in reference to a theft.  The victim was sleeping in the delivery waiting room and when she awoke, she found an African-American employee holding her purse.  He then walked away quickly, and she discovered that her camera, cell phone, cash, and credit cards were missing.  The suspect was a Log Technician at the hospital, and a consent search of his vehicle was conducted.  All the stolen property was recovered from his vehicle, and the 57-year-old suspect was taken into custody for grand theft.</p>
<p>14. Around 6:28 p.m., loss prevention personnel from Macy&#8217;s advised that they had detained a woman for theft.  She was seen concealing merchandise in shopping bags and then left the store without making payment.  Additional stolen property from Baby Gap, H&amp;M, Gymboree, and Children&#8217;s Place were recovered.  A private person&#8217;s arrest was made, and the 27-year-old female Hispanic was taken into custody for commercial burglary.</p>

<p>During the last seven day period, the Police Department handled 518 service events, resulting in 124 investigations. Following are the last week&#8217;s highlighted issues and events:</p>
<p>Vehicle Burglary<br />
On April 5, at 6:06 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 Block of West Olive regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim told him he parked his vehicle in front of his residence at 11:30 p.m. When he returned to his vehicle the following morning he discovered both the front and rear side passenger windows were smashed. He reported three bags were taken containing personal property. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Grand Theft Auto<br />
On April 5, at 6:20 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 Block of East Cypress regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim was reporting his 1994 maroon Honda Accord taken sometime that morning after 1:15 a.m. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Vehicle Burglary<br />
On April 5, at 7:06 a.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 200 Block of May regarding a vehicle burglary. A window was smashed. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Vehicle Burglaries<br />
On April 5, at 8:31 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 Block of North Myrtle regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim reported he had parked and secured his vehicle. He returned to his vehicle the next morning and found the window smashed. While the officer was taking this report he was contacted by another tenant in the complex who also had his vehicle broken into. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Mental Evaluation<br />
On April 5, at 7:34 p.m., an officer went to a residence in the 100 Block of North May to assist a family with a &#8220;Keep the Peace&#8221; call regarding custody of a teenage child. An officer interviewed the teenager and was able to determine the teen had made several attempts to commit suicide. The officer took the child to the hospital for a mental evaluation hold.</p>
<p>Assault with Deadly Weapon / Robbery<br />
On April 6, at 6:01 p.m., officers went to the area of Fifth and Duarte regarding a shooting. A couple was walking their small dog when a white vehicle drove near them and stopped. The suspect from the vehicle attempted to steal the small dog from them. As the couple fought off the dog thieves, a neighbor tried to help them retain control of the dog. The suspects were overpowered and they went back to the car and fled. The suspect fired a single shot at the group and struck the neighbor in the leg. With aggressive investigation by the patrol officers, a possible vehicle was identified. The vehicle matched the description of a carjacking suspect vehicle in El Monte. The El Monte Police Department found the vehicle later that evening and arrested five suspects. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Burglary<br />
On April 7, at 3:24 p.m., an officer went to a business in the 100 Block of West Foothill regarding a male subject in custody for shoplifting. Apparently, the subject went into the store pushing a stroller along with his 10-year-old son. He admitted to going in to buy two packs of diapers; however, he kept telling the10-year-old son to grab different items for him from other aisles. These were grocery items they did not have at home and needed. These items were placed inside an empty bag on the stroller and concealed. The subject was arrested and charged with burglary.</p>
<p>Vehicle Theft<br />
On April 7, at 4:29 p.m., an officer went to a business parking lot in the 500 Block of South Mountain regarding a vehicle theft. The victim told him he went to work out at the gym and had parked and secured his vehicle in the parking lot. He was inside the gym between 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. When he came out to his car, it was gone. The victim believes his car keys were stolen from his gym bag. Investigation continuing.</p>
<p>Grand Theft<br />
On April 7, at 4:36 p.m., an officer went to a business in the 300 Block of South Myrtle regarding a theft. The victim told him that a couple had been in the store earlier in the day. When they left, they told the victim that they would return later. She stated the couple was looking at jewelry in a display case. She heard a noise coming from their direction and asked if they needed the display case open. The male suspect told her they did not need the case open, and that he had just bumped his head on the case. A short time later, the couple left north on Myrtle toward Palm. Approximately ten minutes later, the victim discovered jewelry had been taken from the display case. There is no surveillance in the store. Investigation continuing.</p>

Robbery</p>

On April 8 at 5:34 p.m., a male subject entered a gas station in the 700 block of East Huntington. He then entered the cashier area and ordered the clerk to open the register. The suspect had his hands in the pockets of his windbreaker. The clerk opened the cash register and the suspect reached in and took the money. The suspect then ordered the clerk to open a second register, but the clerk told him he could not open it. The suspect then ordered the clerk to get on the ground and asked him where the cigarettes are kept. The clerk told him they were locked in a storage room. The suspect left walking west toward Shamrock. Investigation continuing.<br />
Mental Evaluation</p>

On April 9 at 7:20 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of East Foothill regarding a family disturbance. A 16-year-old female was refusing to go with the rest of her family to visit a grandparent. The subject grabbed a straight razor, locked herself in the bathroom and threatened to commit suicide. Officers arrived and kept the girl from using the razor on herself. The minor was taken to a hospital and was held for a 72 hour mental evaluation.<br />
Grand Theft Auto &#8211; Suspects Arrested</p>
<p>
April 9 at 6:20 p.m., police received a call from an alert resident who reported seeing two suspicious subjects leaving a vehicle in the area and walking away. The citizen provided a license plate, a description of the suspects, the direction they were heading and hung up the phone. A computer check on the vehicle indicated it was reported stolen out of Cypress. Officers conducted an area check and located the suspects. The victim of the stolen vehicle only knew the first names of the suspects. He had met them a few days prior and they took his vehicle while he was asleep. The suspects were arrested and the investigation is continuing.<br />
Driving Under the Influence</p>

April 9 at 8:30 p.m., a driver was heading northbound on Mayflower and collided into the back of another vehicle that was turning into a parking lot. Officers arrived and determined the driver was driving while under the influence. He was arrested.<br />

April 10 at 2:02 a.m., an officer was driving south on Myrtle when he noticed a vehicle in front of him was swerving in the lane. The driver suddenly veered toward the right and struck the curb, causing the front tire to pop. The driver continued south and struck the curb again, causing the rear tire to pop. The officer stopped the driver and determined the driver was under the influence and he was arrested.<br />

April 10 at 2:06 a.m., an officer was traveling north on Primrose and observed a vehicle in front of him swerve into the southbound lane. The officer stopped the driver and during the investigation, determined the driver was under the influence. The driver was arrested.<br />
Petty Theft with Priors</p>

April 10 at 1:20 p.m., police responded to a business in the 500 block of West Huntington. A male subject was observed stealing merchandise. He was confronted by loss prevention officers and he ran. They followed him and attempted to detain him. He started to struggle with the loss prevention officers, but immediately stopped and surrendered upon hearing police sirens. The suspect was found to have a prior felony theft conviction with time served, as well as a long list of narcotics offenses. The subject was booked for felony petty theft with priors.<br />
Burglary</p>
<p>
April 10 at 3:32 p.m., two transient, twin brothers who frequent a church in the 700 block of South Shamrock were observed in the rooms adjoining the sanctuary. The priest confronted one of them and told him he had to go outside. The church organist discovered her wallet missing from her purse. They confronted the transients about the wallet and the pair ran. One of the transients turned back and attempted to give the stolen wallet back, less the cash. He was arrested and the wallet and cash were recovered. He was booked for burglary. The other brother was not located, however, his possible whereabouts are known. The investigation is ongoing.<br />
Domestic Violence</p>
<p>
April 10 at 3:04 p.m., officers responded to a hotel in the 900 block of South Fifth after an anonymous caller reported that her friend had been beaten by her boyfriend. Officers responded and contacted both subjects at a room in the hotel and determined a battery resulting in injury had occurred. The boyfriend was arrested and booked for domestic violence.</p>
<p>Sierra Madre PD</p>
<p>During the week of Sunday, April 4th, to Saturday April 10th, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 288 calls for service.</p>
<p>Tuesday, April 6th:</p>
<p>10:13 AM &#8211; Felony arrest, Ex-con with a stolen gun, Unlawful transport of marijuana for sales, 700 block Hastings Ranch Drive. A motorist was speeding on Michillinda and failed to yield to the pursing officer. The driver finally stopped in a residential driveway and was detained. The officer searched the car and found several ounces of marijuana and a stolen and loaded handgun. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Pasadena Jail for remand.</p>
<p>Friday, April 9th:</p>
<p>8:07 AM &#8211; Auto Burglary report, 700 block of Fairview Ave. A resident reported the rear window of her locked car was smashed and her purse was stolen. The crime occurred between 6:00 pm, Thursday, 4/8/2010 and 7:00 am, Friday, 4/9/2010. She reported the loss of a purse, $33.00 in cash, her driver&#8217;s license, credit cards and a checkbook. The total loss was estimated at $133.00.</p>
