Over 30 fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students participated in Cloverly Elementary School’s annual Geography Bee on Tuesday, January 12.

The competition lasted for over 90 minutes as students completed seven grueling rounds of questions.  About half a dozen students were left for the nerve-wracking tie breaking rounds.

Two fourth graders, Andrew Kosanovich and Carol Anne Werthwein, nabbed first and second place, respectively.  It was almost a fourth grade sweep; but as it went down to a tense final tie breaker, it was fifth grader Sophia Wu who took third place.

Congratulations to teacher Denise Galvan for arranging, emceeing, and coordinating practice sessions for another successful Geography Bee at Cloverly.

Cloverly Elementary School is in the Temple City Unified School District and serves students in grades 4-6.
